Tilman Roehrig

Author

Tilman Röhrig was born in the last days of the Second World War as the third of five children of the pastor of the Confessing Church Udo Röhrig,[1] who had previously had to move from Cologne to the extreme south of the church province because of advocacy of the faith as he had learned it from Karl Barth. He grew up under an unlovingly strict father, later without a mother, with a foster family and in a home. After graduating from high school, Tilman Röhrig initially trained as an actor in Frankfurt, where he also made his stage debut. Engagements in Bonn, Hanover and Cologne followed.
